Sterling to launch health malls soon

NITIN Sandesara-led Rs 2,300-crore Sterling Group is set to enter the healthcare segment with tieups. The company would roll out its first centre in Vadodara in the next few days under the brand name, Sterling Health Mall.

The group has now joined hands with Goodlife Integrated Fitness Solutions for its health food delivery service, Calorie Care. It would also venture into the retailing of sports apparels, spa products and nutraceutical manufacturing through various tie-ups. “We had planned to go ahead with only the gym but have enlarged our canvas. We are now planning to offer a complete range of health-related solutions and products under one roof. We expect the healthcare segment to grow rapidly and hence, have planned our own brand. We would be launching 6 centres in Ahmedabad and Surat among others,” said Sterling Health Mall CEO Gayatri Singh. She avoided divulging future plans of the group and the investment it has planned. ET had earlier reported that Sterling Group had tied up with US-based chain World Gym for Gujarat and was considering expansion on a national level. She also added that the group is in talks with a number of health-related brands for Sterling Health Mall’s soon-to-be-rolled-out national network.

The group would set up smaller formats under the banner of Sterling Health Studios in select parts of the country. “Our concept is not going to be limited only to the elite. The mall would also offer tailor-made solutions through gym, yoga class and ayurveda centre to patients of lifestyle ailments,” said Ms Singh. She claimed that the malls’ format would make maintaining good health more interesting as compared to traditional gyms.

Meanwhile, Sterling Health Mall would be launching TreadClimber for the first time in India for fitness freaks. The promoters are planning to roll out a health awareness campaign through master trainers from its associates overseas.
